I must say I was extremely disappointed with this CD—it was so irritating I am returning it. I would never ever play this music for my massage clients. It sounds as if the music is “warped” or dragging to me and Track 1 is especially annoying. I think this CD is anything BUT relaxing!

Ambient guitarist Emil Gagliardi calls his independent label Connecting the Universe Music, and this CD truly has the feel of a personal and instant connection to the cosmos. The album starts off ambitiously with big, dreamy, and mysterious chords that engender intimate reflection of both the internal and the external, and perhaps even the dimensional. From there, the CD continues a kaleidoscopic journey of piercing string plucks, bagpipe-like tones, and sprightly harmonics. By the end, the spacy, floating wah-wahs will have the listener drifting away on clouds.

I am very sensitive about synthesized sounds vs. naturally produced or “acoustic” sounds.
This CD was Not what I was looking for in something labeled “acoustic.”
I ordered it because of practitioner reviews and 5 star ratings trying to find Calming guitar music.
It is unfortunate that there is no sample listenening on this series of CDs.
I want to forewarn anyone looking for purely acoustic sounds that this in Not what you are looking for. This was not calming to my sensitive nerves. To be fair, if non-acoustic sounds don’t bother you, then it may be fine for you, but for me it did not fit the need.

I gave this to my boss for a present and he loved it. What a great way to get the Boss to be calm and happy.

As with all the recordings in the Detaching The World series, this is excellent music for bodywork. However, CD-Rs are very inexpensive to produce, so I wonder why this item is priced the same as the other volumes that are sold in the higher quality CD format. My guess is they’re going for consistency of pricing AND the extra profit per unit. If that sort of thing doesn’t bother you and you’re collecting the set, then you should go ahead and buy it.
